COVID 19  – Key Insurance Considerations

 

Business Interruption

If you had Business Interruption cover in place before the outbreak of COVID 19 you may be entitled to claim for loss of earnings which arises directly from the impact of COVID 19 on your business. The extent of cover provided varies from Insurer to Insurer with some Insurers providing full cover and some providing no cover at all. Please contact your Robertson Low representative who will be happy to talk you through what cover may be afforded to you under your own policy.

Unoccupied Premises Conditions

Most Insurers will have an Unoccupied Premises Condition applying to their Property Insurance policies. If you decide to close down your Business Premises for the period of the COVID 19 outbreak it is important that you familiarise yourself with these Conditions as it may impose further obligations on you to enhance the security of your premises or indeed it may restrict the cover afforded under the policy for the period that the Premises remains unoccupied.
